A beautiful headband showcasing the beautiful artwork of Jill Delaney, a proud Nunagal, Goenbal Ngugi woman from Quandamooka Country.
The Bunbiya (turtle) is one of the many salt water animals found on Quandamooka Country representing to the artist strength, resilience and the unspoken connection to County. The shell of the Bunbiya - strong, and protective-strength. The lifecycle - battling the odds from the moment of hatching - resilience. The female Bunbiya returns to the same nesting grounds where she was born when it’s time for her to lay her own eggs, staying connected and returning to Country to birth. Instinctively knowing that Country is safe for her and her babies.
